While Waiting

I’m not known for my patience. I’ve learned over the years NOT to pray for patience. When my wife and I are planning to leave at a certain time, I’m that guy who is ready to roll at that time. She has learned that about me and she is mostly on time.  I realize that patience is a virtue, but I’m still working on growing that in me. I do think I’ve grown in this area over the past several years.

Brad Paisley recorded a song called “Waitin’ On A Woman” that was a bit humorous. I think the secret to waiting is doing something while waiting. In the age of smart phones and tablets, there is always some notification to check or an email to review.

Waiting on God is a bit tougher task. His timing is perfect and doesn’t always align with our timing. Jesus tells us that He will return to gather His chosen ones, but no one knows when. Check this out….

36 “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. (Matthew 24:36 NLT)

I’m growing in my patience with The Father as His plan unfolds. Even His plan for my life takes a while to take shape. I have lots to do while waiting on the Father. I have people to see and things to do for the kingdom while waiting.

I want to be faithful in His Word while waiting.

I want to be faithful to His call upon my life, while waiting.

I want to be a faithful husband while waiting.

I want to be a faithful Dad while waiting.

I want to be a faithful friend while waiting.

I want to be a faithful leader while waiting.

I want to be a faithful REALTOR while waiting.

While I’m waiting for Him to write the conclusion of my life story, I’ll be faithful and steady to walk with Him daily.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
