Honored

I have been given awards over the years for things that I’ve accomplished with my life. Some have blessed me beyond words. Some I remember more often because of how my life impacted someone else. Other awards meant less because they were more about me. I have chosen to live my life for a reward that won’t happen while I’m here on earth. The award I’m really excited about receiving is my eternal reward – Heaven!

I was reading Paul’s letter to the church in Thessalonica. He was reminding them of how proud he was with how they live to honor God, even amid suffering.  It blessed me when he started encouraging them with his powerful prayer for their deep faith. Check this out….

11 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. 12 Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 NLT)

I came away wanting my life to be a life worthy of His call.

I want Him to bless me with the power to accomplish the good things that my faith prompts me to do.

I want to honor Him by the way I live.

I want to always remember that everything is made possible by the Grace of God.

I’m honored to be called a child of God. I’m even more honored to simply live my life for my Father. I want Him to be noticed for any good that is in me or comes from me.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
