Wealthy

Young happy woman with dollarI know people who are wealthy by just about any measurement, except their own. They continue to work as if they need more money. The truth is that they may very well have goals and dreams for their wealth. Wealth is a relative term. When wealth is measured in financial numbers, there is a lot missing. Wealth is much more than money. Wealth is health and well-being. Wealth includes peace, happiness and joy. Wealth includes a purpose driven life. To me wealth is a matter of perspective. I used to be poor in my mind, but then I discovered what wealth really means – I’ve been wealthy for a long time. I do have a goal of one day being considered financially wealthy, but not before I’m spiritually wealthy and relationship wealthy. I heard it said before that poor was a state of the mind, while broke was the state of a bank account.

Paul really speaks plainly to the church at Ephesus about what it means to be saved and wealthy by the things that matters. Check this out…

For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6-7 NLT)

I am wealthy because of Jesus. I want my wealth in His Grace and Kindness to expand through me. I want others to know that I’ve been with Jesus because of how I live my life. I want any financial wealth I obtain to be subject to the Lord’s Grace and Kindness too. I don’t want to be known for His Presence in my heart NOT for what I do. I want to become more like Him as I keep growing in my profession and in my influence upon others. I will consider myself wealthy in grace and kindness when I’m known for having been with Jesus. This is the wealth that is eternal – financial wealth is temporary to this earthly life.

Pressing On!
