Presence Perspective

A few years back, my word for the year was “Presence”. I wanted the Lord’s Presence to be noticed in me. I wanted my presence with others to make a difference. I also prayed often for the Lord’s Presence in me. I realize now that the Presence of the Lord is ALWAYS in me. I’ve accepted Jesus as Lord of my life and part of that “salvation package” is the very Presence of God. His Spirit dwells in me and He shapes my thoughts and directs my activities when I allow Him.

I’ve been hanging out in Psalm 139 for the past few weekends and simply letting this powerful Psalm settle into my soul. This Psalm says a lot about Presence. Check this out…

You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!

I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
11 I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—
12     but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you. (Psalm 139:5-12 NLT)

He is with me.

He is for me.

He loves me.

He speaks to me.

He speaks through me.

He NEVER leaves me.

His Presence is so comforting to me when I face insurmountable challenges and deep valleys of grief. He never leaves. I’m NEVER alone. There is so much comfort to my soul as I realize the magnitude of His Presence.

Pressing On!
