Humbled & Filled With Gratitude

When I think about the God of the Universe helping me or paying attention to my prayers, it is humbling. I am convinced of His Presence in me because I’ve seen His work firsthand. I’ve been the recipient of His rescue and His Grace. I know what it’s like to feel lost and I remember what it was like when He found me. I know what it’s like to feel like I’m defeated. I remember what it was like to overcome and win a battle. The enemy has never given up trying to take me out. He has thrown some pretty heavy stuff at me, but thankfully the Lord is my Protection, my Counsel and my Provider. He speaks, He leads, He directs, and He protects me from those who seek to harm me. I am blown away when I begin to grasp the Power of His Presence in me. Check this out….

I love you, Lord;
    you are my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
    my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
    and my place of safety.
I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
    and he saved me from my enemies.

The ropes of death entangled me;
    floods of destruction swept over me.
The grave wrapped its ropes around me;
    death laid a trap in my path.
But in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
    yes, I prayed to my God for help.
He heard me from his sanctuary;
    my cry to him reached his ears.

25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful;
    to those with integrity you show integrity.
26 To the pure you show yourself pure,
    but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.
27 You rescue the humble,
    but you humiliate the proud.
28 You light a lamp for me.
    The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
29 In your strength I can crush an army;
    with my God I can scale any wall. (Psalm 18:1-6;25-29 NLT)

This psalm of David really blessed me. My heart sings in gratitude for multiple times of rescue from sin and stupidity. The Lord has been so grace-filled on multiple occasions as I stumble and bumble my way into obedience. I just want to sing a simple song to the Lord in humility and gratitude.

I want my life to reflect His Presence in me, even before I speak or write a word. I want others to notice His Presence in me by how I love, live, walk & talk. I want to display the gospel with my life.
