Human

I think much about what it is like to be human. I also don’t give much thought to a parallel universe. I do believe that God created the heavens and the earth, so if there is another planet with life on it, it was created by God. I don’t believe that a big bang happened, and the detailed life form of humans came out of that, unless Creator God decided to create that way.  I also don’t believe that humans evolved, I believe that we were created. I do believe that we look a bit different than humans 250 years ago, certainly similar. For example, I wonder what Abe Lincoln would look like in slacks and a golf shirt!

Adam was the first human man created. He had a special relationship with God. I wish it had continued the way God wanted it. I must say that I’m thankful that God gave us a choice when it comes to loving Him.  The Lord works with us, with or without our co-operation.  Check this out…

This is the written account of the descendants of Adam. When God created human beings, made them to be like himself. He created them male and female, and he blessed them and called them “human.”

When Adam was 130 years old, he became the father of a son who was just like him—in his very image. He named his son Seth. After the birth of Seth, Adam lived another 800 years, and he had other sons and daughters. Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.(Genesis 5:1-5 NLT)

The account here in Genesis lists 10 generations from Adam to Noah. These guys all lived about 10 times longer than the average life-span today. It’s like life was different prior to the great flood. The Lord created us like Himself and some followed His Creative plan and others of us went our own way.  I am sometimes really selfish, and I want what I want, when I want it. At other times, the Spirit of God compels me to serve and love like He loves. I am much happier and more fulfilled when I choose to live like He wired me to live. I often wish that I had figured this out a long time ago.

To be human is to be godly – not worldly or selfish.

To be human is to love like God loves.

To be human is to admit that I’m here to bring glory and honor to the One Who created me.

He gives me His Presence here in the present, so that I can live for Him and look like Him.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
