BE – Love – Serve – REPEAT!

be love serve repeatI read this slogan several years ago. It was the theme of a youth conference and it has stuck in my head as a good slogan for my life as a Christ-follower. I want to BE a child of God. I want BE-lieve in Him. I want to BE loved by Him. I want to honor Him BE-cause I LOVE Him. I want to SERVE others out of my LOVE for Him. It is a good cycle to be in and stay faithful to.  This morning in my journey through 1 Peter 4, I felt like this is exactly what “ole Pete” was saying. Check this out….

The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:7-11 NIV)

Be Alert; pay attention so that I can pray.

Love others deeply – if necessary then I can use words. My activities should show my love, honor and respect for others.

I should Serve others however they need me to serve.  There are so many ways that I can serve others. In fact the profession I’m in as a REALTOR, is a service profession. I can use my knowledge, skill and honor to serve my clients with the highest professional care and watch each detail closely. I can give them sound council and good advice based on good information.  I ultimately serve and honor God. I serve Him by serving others. I love Him because He loved me first. I love others because I love Him.

I want to BE His Child. I want LOVE like He loves. I want to SERVE like He serves and then I want to do it all over again tomorrow.

I want my life to be lived for His honor and His glory!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
