Written Down

My handwriting has got a bit messy over the years. I think I try to write too fast. I also think my hand isn’t quite as nimble as it once was either. I have tried all sorts of electronic note systems and I’ve used electronic “to do lists”, but recently I listened to a podcast that noted the connection to our brain when we “hand write” things down. I now carry a small note pad to write things down.

I also work in a profession most every single detail to a transaction needs to be written down. If it’s written down, it’s defensible. If it’s written down, it’s admissible in a court of law. I grew up in a place where a “hand-shake agreement” was just as reliable as a written agreement. I try to live that out today when I give my word, but it’s really necessary to write down everything today for clarity and mutual agreement.

Moses was on Mt. Sinai getting specific instructions from the Lord. I’ve always thought that Moses was there simply getting the “10 Commandments”, but it was a bit more than that. Check his out…..

18 When the Lord finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, written by the finger of God. (Exodus 32:18 NLT)

I believe in God the Father
I believe in Jesus Christ
I believe in the Holy Spirit
And He’s given me new life
I believe in the crucifixion

I believe that He conquered death
I believe in the resurrection
And He’s comin’ back again, I believe

(adapted from the Newsboys “We Believe”)

I’m writing about my faith because it’s real. Even when it don’t “feel” real, I keep pressing forward in faith because what I know needs to be stronger than my whimsical emotions or feelings. I want to live each day of my life with gratitude in my heart, generosity toward God and others with an immovable faith in Creator God. So today, I turned 58 years old today and I have less time ahead of me than what is in my past, but I want to make every moment count for sure!

Pressing On!

Dwayne
