Warrior Spirit
I have never really been a fighter so to speak. When I was a young kid, I wasn’t afraid of a fight. I also didn’t back down from a fight. As I’ve gotten older and wiser, I found a wiser way to win. There are times when dialogue is finished, and the fight is on. As much as I’d like to avoid the fight, there are some people itching for a fight. They are combative out of the gate and there only one way to solve the issue and it’s their way ONLY.
I feel blessed over the years to have forged relationships with many people who know me and know my heart. I’m not out to harm others for sure. I’m also not out to get harmed and I’m protective of those I love and care about and I desire to keep them from harm as well. My battles pale in comparison to the real live battles our military face around the world. I pray for them and the leadership of our country very often.
King David was about to become king. The people knew the plans of God to make him king. Many of the brave warriors started joining David, even while Saul the army of Israel was hunting him down. Check this out….
22 Day after day more men joined David until he had a great army, like the army of God.
23 These are the numbers of armed warriors who joined David at Hebron. They were all eager to see David become king instead of Saul, just as the Lord had promised.
38 All these men came in battle array to Hebron with the single purpose of making David the king over all Israel. In fact, everyone in Israel agreed that David should be their king. (1 Chronicles 12:22-23,38 NLT)
By the time David assembled his army, he had over 340,000 warriors ready to defend him and make him king. The Lord really was doing the assembling of his army. King David was seeking the heart of God as the Lord built an army with the warrior spirit to surround David in preparation for him becoming king.
I believe that the Lord can assemble the right people around me today to help me grow and become successful. As I walk with Him and listen to Him, He leads and directs my life. He leads me to the right people. He can set on the right path. He can prompt me to listen to the right people as they speak into my life. I want to cultivate a warrior spirit in me as I serve the Lord with passion and direction from Him. Every battle doesn’t require a fight, but I often have to be poised to fight in order for dialogue to win the battle before it starts. David was quite a leader, whose warrior spirit attracted other leaders with a warrior spirit as well.
Pressing On!
