Unpacking God’s Love
I love opening packages whether they are Christmas gifts, birthday gifts or something I’ve ordered from Amazon.com! Opening gifts has elements of anticipation and surprise. There is a sense of excitement to opening a package. Just putting my eyes and my hands on the contents is enjoyable and fun. I must say that as I read this passage in 1 John, I felt like the author was unpacking God’s love. Check this out….
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:7-12 NIV)
God loves me and the Presence of His Love in me, compels me to love others. He is the very definition of Love. He is the Personification of Love. He loved me first. He loves me completely. His love is impossible to measure and contain. His love is really impossible to describe. He loves so deeply and thoroughly that I can’t begin to understand the depths of His love. I do know this – I am never more like God than when I love.
His Love Never Fails.
His Love Never Gives Up.
His Love Never Ends!
As I walk out my faith today, I want to keep unpacking God’s love for me and His love for others! There is no end to this Gift of Love. I can unpack His love every day for the rest of my life!
Pressing On! Dwayne
