Unbelief

I see things all the time that I don’t believe are true. There are video clips that are made to look real, but they are fake. Some people are so good at deception, that the truth is hard to find. I find truth in God’s Word. It’s hard to know what is true when it’s being told by someone else.

I grew up hearing about Jesus as a kid. I believe now because I’ve investigated Him for myself. I believed at first because of my parents and grandparents. There are people who were told about Jesus just like I was, but for some reason, they don’t believe in Him. Jesus was rejected in His own hometown. He went to the synagogue in Nazareth and was teaching and many were amazed. The powerful religious leaders were skeptical and offended. Check this out….

Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their unbelief. (Mark 6:4-6 NLT)

I don’t ever want Jesus to be amazed at my unbelief. I have moments where there is a lapse in judgment, and I do something stupid that conflicts with my belief. I am usually quick to repent and return.

I get up each morning and make a choice to follow Jesus. It’s not always easy, but it is a simple choice. I have a relationship with Him. He knows me. He is my Friend Who is closer than a brother. I tell Him everything. I ask for His counsel on everything. He’s the first person I speak with in the morning and the last person I speak with before sleeping.

I believe in Jesus. I believe in God. I believe that His Word is true. I believe that He sent His Holy Spirit to comfort me and lead me. I believe that He speaks to me through His Word, preachers who teach His Word and others who follow Him.

Pressing On!
