Total Trust

I feel like I’m pretty good at trusting the Lord. I trust Him with the big things in my life. I’m not so good at trusting Him with the things that I believe are within my control. I’m still learning that He loves it when I trust Him with something as simple as finding a screw or bolt that I just dropped in the grass below. He wants me to walk with Him and talk with Him all day long about everything.  I have plenty of room to grow in trusting the Lord at this deep level.

Isaiah reminds the people of Israel that God can be trusted because of His “track record” with them. Check this out….

12 “I, yes I, am the one who comforts you.
So why are you afraid of mere humans,
who wither like the grass and disappear?
13 Yet you have forgotten the Lord, your Creator,
the one who stretched out the sky like a canopy
and laid the foundations of the earth.

15 For I am the Lord your God,
who stirs up the sea, causing its waves to roar.
My name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
16 And I have put my words in your mouth
and hidden you safely in my hand.
I stretched out the sky like a canopy
and laid the foundations of the earth.
I am the one who says to Israel,
‘You are my people!’” (Isaiah 51:12-13a, 15-16 NLT)

The Lord has a good “track record” with me. He has always been present with me as I walked through struggle and suffering. In the middle of the struggle and suffering, it’s often hard to see His hand or His Presence, but it’s obvious later that He was there. I just need reminding that He NEVER leaves me.I am the one who pushes Him away at times when I want my own selfish way. He is so patient even when I stumble and fall. He is always there with grace in hand to lead me home.I have a hard time understanding that level of love for sure.

Pressing On!
