Too Hard

faith messageThere are several times that I will attempt to do something and realize that I’m out of my league. I used to work on my own cars a good bit. On one particular day, I actually tore more up on the car than I fixed. I now leave that to the professional. I think it’s important to know my limitations. I don’t want to use the excuse that it’s too hard, rather that I’m not really qualified to do that. (For the record – that excuse doesn’t work with yard work and other chores around the house!) I came across the story of Abraham and Sarah and the Lord telling them that at 100 and 90 respectively, they would have a son. I was reminded that the Lord can and will do anything. Check this out…

9 ‘Where is your wife Sarah?’ they asked him.

‘There, in the tent,’ he said.

10 Then one of them said, ‘I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.’

Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. 11 Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing.

13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh and say, “Will I really have a child, now that I am old?” 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.’ (Genesis 18:9-14 NIV)

There are a lot of things too hard for me, but nothing is too hard for the Lord. He can completely dictate the events of my day and any person’s day. He can absolutely do ANYTHING He wants. I heard as a young kid that there is one the Lord can’t do and that is fail at anything He sets out to do.

I want to look at today with a positive outlook realizing that His Presence in me is a big deal. I have no worries because He has today. There is nothing I face that is considered too hard for Him!

Pressing On!

Dwayne
