The Kindness of The Lord

expression - Kindness begets kindnessIf I will take moment to simply reflect on the kindness of the Lord, I could make a very long list of His kindness just toward me. I usually operate in the “here and now” NOT the “there and back then”. While walking through my day it’s easy to forget the good things the Lord has done in the past. If I’m not walking through today with yesterday in mind, I’m doomed to make some of the same dumb mistakes. His Presence in my life has changed everything including my perspective. Isaiah had a reflective moment too. Check this out…

7 I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord,
    the deeds for which he is to be praised,
    according to all the Lord has done for us –
yes, the many good things
    he has done for Israel,
    according to his compassion and many kindnesses.
8 He said, ‘Surely they are my people,
    children who will be true to me’;
    and so he became their Saviour.
9 In all their distress he too was distressed,
    and the angel of his presence saved them.
In his love and mercy he redeemed them;
    he lifted them up and carried them
    all the days of old. (Isaiah 63:7-9 NIV)

In just my adult life –

I’ve been unemployed before within three weeks of buying a new car. (financial stress)

I’ve been through divorce. (I wouldn’t wish that on my enemies.)

I’ve been along-side my son battling cancer. (I’m so very thankful He beat it!)

The Lord just never quits being with me. He never gets tired or needs a break. I can be going through the most stressful time and He’s right there with me. The Lord is so patient and kind because I’m not always with Him. There are times that I try things my own way and I don’t consult Him. That is a huge mistake. He wants to live in me and through me. He wants to showcase His kindness and His strength through His kids – kids like me. I love the fact that even though I’m older now, I’ll always be His Kid! He is so kind. He is so full of love and grace. He blows me away. I want to always walk in His way.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
