The End

This pandemic has really made me think of how the ending goes. I’m not necessarily thinking of the end of the pandemic as much as I’m speaking of the end of this life.  My Dad is 26 years older than me and I don’t know how long I will live on this earth.  I don’t think it’s uncommon to think about what the end will look like for me. There is a lot about how this life ends that is completely out of my control. I can be smart and careful with my health and still get killed in an automobile crash.

King Saul was fighting the Philistines alongside three of his sons. His sons are killed in battle. Check this out….

The Philistines closed in on Saul and his sons, and they killed three of his sons—Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malkishua. The fighting grew very fierce around Saul, and the Philistine archers caught up with him and wounded him severely.

Saul groaned to his armor bearer, “Take your sword and kill me before these pagan Philistines come to run me through and taunt and torture me.”

But his armor bearer was afraid and would not do it. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it. When his armor bearer realized that Saul was dead, he fell on his own sword and died beside the king. So Saul, his three sons, his armor bearer, and his troops all died together that same day. (1 Samuel 31:2-6 NLT)

I want to live today like it could be my last day.

I want to make sure that I’m prepared for life after death.

I want to make sure the people I love know that I love them.

The end for those who know the Lord is really only the beginning of eternal life.

I’m grateful that the Lord will be with me all the way to the end of this life. He will escort me to eternal life. I believe that death is a bit scary because we don’t understand it. Jesus is the only person to die and then come back to life here on earth. There are many unknowns surrounding the end, but the Lord is fully capable of managing all of them.

I want to live like I’ll die tomorrow, die knowing I will live forever.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
