Storage

When I look at a house with a prospective buyer, they will often look to see how much storage the property has. It blows my mind that one of the number one exploding industries in our country is storage warehouses. It appears that people have a lot more than they can store at their home. They rent a space to store their stuff. We have become poor buy owning too much stuff.

Jesus taught to be rich in relationship with God instead of being wealthy or independently rich. Check this out….

21 “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” (Luke 12:21 NLT)

I’m not pointing anyone out, because I have closets that are full, and my basement needs a big purge of excess stuff stored there.  I think Jesus was speaking to people like me.  I need to keep just what is necessary for me to live and the rest is just excess. In our culture, I’m among the majority if I have a bunch of stuff in storage -either at my house or in a storage rental spot.

I think Jesus is clear about holding loosely to possessions. I think He wants me to own the possessions I need instead of our possessions owning me. I want to rich in my relationship with God instead of rich with money or possessions here on earth.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
