Steady

I like the word steady. It implies balance, regular, even keeled, fixed, not shaky.  It can also mean continuous in growth and development. I like people with a steady hand when all around me is crazy and seemingly out of control.

As I was reading the book of the Acts of the Apostles this morning, I was reminded to remain steady and faithful because of Who Jesus is. King David even spoke about Him years before He walked the earth. Check this out…

25 King David said this about him:

‘I see that the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

26 No wonder my heart is glad,
and my tongue shouts his praises!
    My body rests in hope.
27 For you will not leave my soul among the dead
or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave.
28 You have shown me the way of life,
and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.
(Acts 2:25-28 NLT) (Psalm 16:8-11 NLT)

I think steady is also related to faithfulness. I want to be faithful and steady in my walk with God. The Lord’s Presence in me helps make that happen. I must constantly remember that “the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” (1 John 4:4 NLT)

I can love steady.

I can serve steady.

I can lead steady.

I can live steady.

His Presence in me changes my perspective on everything I see, everything I hear and everything I experience.  I can NEVER run from His Presence. He is with me wherever I am. His Presence steady’s me and my life. I want be steady in following Him.

Pressing On!
