Speak Out!

I’m not a super shy person by any means. If you and I strike up a conversation, we will likely have an enjoyable visit and find some commonality.  I’m just not always the one who initiates the conversation with people I don’t know very well. If we get to talking about things of faith, I will likely light up as Jesus is one of my favorite persons to talk about. He has literally changed everything in my life for the better.

Paul is encouraging the Christ followers at the church in Rome to lean into their deep faith in God. He is reminding them that their salvation didn’t come to them because they were good enough or that they did enough good works. Salvation is a heart and head connection with God. Check this out….

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10 NLT)

I believe when Jesus saved me, He gave me a mission to tell others. I shouldn’t keep this good news of salvation to myself. I should share it with others. My life should reflect my salvation that I have in Jesus. My life should speak out about my faith. I shouldn’t just have to use words. My actions and the activities of my life reflect my values and my belief.

I want to lean into my faith today. I want the way I talk and the things I do and say to reflect my deep faith.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
