Seen & Heard

I hear things all the time. I used to watch the news until I couldn’t trust what was being said. I try to take people at their word until they do something that proves they weren’t be honest and truthful. I will admit that I’m even a bit of a skeptic. I want to see results of a person’s life before trusting everything that they say.  I sometimes wonder what people are saying about me and my life. I know what they say to me face to face, but what do they really believe about me?

I came across an exchange between Jesus & John the Baptist. John sent word to Jesus asking some specific questions and Jesus back a report of all that was happening. Check this out….

1 When Jesus had finished giving these instructions to his twelve disciples, he went out to teach and preach in towns throughout the region.

John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”

Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.” And he added, “God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.” (Matthew 11:1-6 NLT)

My life is so different since I started walking with Jesus. I surrendered my life to Him the first time in third grade. My faith became my own in my first year of college. He has been with me through some crazy hardship and suffering. My journey with Him today is deeper and sweeter than last week, last month, last year or 10 years ago. I want to know Him more. I want to see and hear from Him every day.

I worry a lot less about what people think of me since I’ve been walking closer to Him. I don’t expect people to understand or approve over everything I do or say. I just want to honor the Lord with my life and my work.  I want others to see my journey and notice Him instead of me.  When you see or hear from me, I hope you see and hear from Him! My life has not been the same after surrendering to Him daily and seeking Him.

Pressing On!
