Revive

This word has an important word in most every part of its definition, and that word is “again”. The word Revive carries with it words like: restart, renew, return, rebuild, vigor, strength, restore to name a few. It is a word that has some life and hope inside its meaning. For example, I want to renew a friendship or relationship.

The Lord is in the “revive” business. He loves restoring broken and hurting people. He made us and wired us, and He knows my DNA. He knows the quickest way to get my attention and draw me back to Himself. He ALWAYS makes a way home where there seems to be no way home. This passage in Isaiah reminded me how important it is to revive my relationship with God each day. Check this out…..

14 God says, “Rebuild the road!
Clear away the rocks and stones
so my people can return from captivity.”
15 The high and lofty one who lives in eternity,
    the Holy One, says this:
“I live in the high and holy place
with those whose spirits are contrite and humble.
I restore the crushed spirit of the humble
and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts. (Isaiah 57:14-15 NLT)

I often need my courage revived.

I often need my spirit restored.

I want to continually be humble before Him and others because I believe God honors humility. I believe humility is a daily choice. I must choose to act humble in a myriad of circumstances.  If I want to be known as humble, then I must act humble. I don’t have to go to a class to learn to be humble, I can simply study the life and actions of Jesus. Even though He was the Son of God, He didn’t wield power recklessly and to serve Himself. He was always about doing what His Father called Him to do. He is the Supreme Example of humility and I would be wise to follow His lead.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
