Ready

I like to be prepared for my day. If I have a meeting at 9 AM, I am up early planning and preparing for the meeting. I don’t like to be rushed and then feel ill-prepared for something that is on my calendar. It’s downright embarrassing when I forget to put something on my calendar after I make the appointment. I like being ready and prepared for the day ahead. One of the reasons that I spend time with the Lord each morning is to settle my soul and lean into Him. He is the Keeper of my heart. His Presence in me is critical to the day ahead. I can be in the midst of struggle later today and remember what His Word spoke to me at the start of the day. Check this out….

God is our refuge and strength,
always readyto help in times of trouble.
So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! (Psalm 46:1-3 NLT)

There are some serious struggles in this journey called life. I’ve been through some for sure: sudden job loss less than month after one of our children were born, divorce, church divorce, cancer – to name a few. I don’t know what is ahead, but I do know that there will be times of trouble in my future. I think trouble and struggle are a part of life like parties and celebrations. I want the Lord’s Presence in me because He is ALWAYS READY. He is never surprised by the stuff that comes my way. I want to be strong in Him and He will prepare me for what I have to walk through next.  I am listening to Him speak into my life. I want to answer the phone with His Presence. I want to text, email or talk with His Presence shining through both content and tone. He is always ready and I want to be ready with Him for whatever comes my way.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
