Radiate
I like this word for some reason. If a person radiates different emotions, they are coming from a source. The sun radiates light down to earth and the light source is the sun. I believe that my emotions come from my heart. I see the heart as a blood pump near the center of my chest cavity, but I also see the heart as the center of my emotions. My heart is most definitely connected with my brain as well. My emotional epi-center is my heart. I was created by God to radiate Him to bring Him glory with my life.
The Hebrew writer starts off this book with making it clear who Jesus is. The people of the culture seem to understand angels, but the writer makes it clear that Jesus is greater than the angels. He’s the very Son of God. Check this out….
1Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets.
2 And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. 3 The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. 4 This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is greater than their names.
14 Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.(Hebrews 1-4,14 NLT)
I have some “angel stories” over the years. I believe in the Spirit realm. I believe that angels are among us and all around, doing the Lord’s business. As amazing beings as angels are, they do no usurp the authority of the Son.
Everything, I know about the Lord comes through the Son. Jesus, upon His death gave us the Holy Spirit – the very Presence of God. I believe that the Holy Spirit can make me radiant. I believe that the Presence of God overflows from my life into the lives of those around me.
I want others to know the joy that is inside me.
I want others to experience mercy from the Lord.
I want others to experience grace from the Lord.
I want others to know the peace that is inside me.
I want others to have the hope that I have in Jesus.
I want the words of mouth and the actions I take to be in harmony with the Presence of God in my life. To radiate the Son of God in my life today should be my purpose for living. Everything else is secondary to that.
Pressing On!
