Protect

When my children were small, I was careful to protect them. When they were old enough to walk around, I had to “child-proof” the house. They didn’t know that electrical outlets would harm them. They didn’t know that the book on the table would hurt if it landed on their foot. They didn’t know that the stove was hot.

It’s the same for me as an adult. I don’t always know what will hurt me. I can’t always see the outcome of decisions that I’m making today. I need the Lord to be with me.  I need Him to rescue me.

I need to be protected by the law enforcement from bad actors who don’t care about hurting others. I need help from our military personnel as there are bad actors on the world scene who want to harm our nation.  I need protection even when I don’t know I need protection. Check this out….

I come to you for protection, O Lord my God.
Save me from my persecutors—rescue me!

For you look deep within the mind and heart,
    O righteous God.

10 God is my shield,
saving those whose hearts are true and right.
11 God is an honest judge.
He is angry with the wicked every day.

17 I will thank the Lord because he is just;
I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High. (Psalm 7:1,9b -11,17 NLT)

The Lord see things that I don’t.

The Lord handles things that I don’t even know need to be handled.

The Lord walks with me through challenges that the world throws my way.

The Lord knows my heart and my motives.

The Lord loves me even when pride rears its head in my heart.

The Lord is My Protector, My Provider with His Presence in me.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
