Powerful Worship Experience – God, You’re So Good

I’ve had the privilege of being part of some power worship experiences. I remember one such occasion was a worship leaders conference in Atlanta at Passion City Church. Kristian Stanfill and Melody Malone were leading a room of worship leaders. The singing was unreal and the Presence of God in the room felt very real.  One of the songs that we sang was the simple chorus that I learned as a kid called, “God Is So Good”.  They had revised it to: “God You’re So Good”.  The Words are quite simple, but powerful. Check this out…

Amazing love
That welcomes me
The kindness of mercy
That bought with blood, wholeheartedly
My soul undeserving

God, You’re so good
Oh God, You’re so good
God, You’re so good
You’re so good to me

Behold the cross
Age to age
And hour by hour
The dead are raised, the sinner saved
The work of Your power

I am blessed, I am called
I am healed, I am whole
I am saved in Jesus’ name

Highly favored, anointed
Filled with Your power
For the glory of Jesus’ name

I am blessed, I am called
I am healed, I am whole
I am saved in Jesus’ name

Highly favored, anointed
Filled with Your power
For the glory of Jesus’ name

And should this life
Bring suffering
Lord, I will remember
What Calvary has bought for me
Both now and forever

I felt like the Presence of God filled the room as we lifted our hearts and our voices to declare His Goodness.

When Solomon finished the Temple and it was time to move the ark, it was well planned and executed. I’m sure that they remember what happened when David first started to bring the Ark to Jerusalem.  After the ark was in place in the most holy place, they were led in worship by Asaph and the musicians. Check this out….

12 And the Levites who were musicians—Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and all their sons and brothers—were dressed in fine linen robes and stood at the east side of the altar playing cymbals, lyres, and harps. They were joined by 120 priests who were playing trumpets. 13 The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words:

“He is good!
    His faithful love endures forever!”

At that moment a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. 14 The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of God. (2 Chronicles 5:12-14 NLT)

I believe that God smile on us when we praise Him with our humble hearts lived in powerful declaration before Him. When we declare His goodness, we are also declaring our faith and trust in Him.  I want His Presence with me wherever I am and whatever I’m doing – it is an amazing experience to be in His Presence and to feel His Presence.

Pressing On!
