Plans

I usually have each day ahead “roughed in” in my calendar. I use a calendar called “Fantastical”. It is synced, and imports holidays and features a “to-do list”. I have learned that each year as I plan, I’m assuming several things. I’m assuming good health for me and my family.  If my health isn’t good, I won’t be going on some trips. If something is going on with some of my family, I probably won’t be traveling. I think it’s important to make plans, but I understand that all my plans are subject to God’s Will for me. He may have other plans and His plans ALWAYS take precedence over my plans.

Isaiah was prophesying about some of the countries who are attacking Israel. The Lord makes it clear that He is looking out for His army. Check this out…

For the Lord has told me this:
“I will watch quietly from my dwelling place—
as quietly as the heat rises on a summer day,
or as the morning dew forms during the harvest.”
Even before you begin your attack,
while your plans are ripening like grapes,
the Lord will cut off your new growth with pruning shears.
He will snip off and discard your spreading branches. (Isaiah 18:4-5 NLT)

I will continue to make plans to connect with people. There are times that I “accidently” cross paths with someone I hadn’t seen in a long time. I believe that can be a divine appointment that the Lord orchestrated. At the time of the interruption to my calendar, I’m not always quick to notice how the Lord might use this.

I’m still learning to trust His plans for me.

I’m still learning to trust my plans to Him.

“If you want to hear God laugh tell Him your plans” – I first heard that in a Van Zant song. Woody Allen is given credit for speaking it as well. It is a reminder that all of my plans and thoughts – my whole life is subject to God’s Plan for me. I want to live and walk in the plans He has for me.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
