Pardoned

There have been some bad people pardoned from the punishment. I remember some presidential pardons that didn’t seem logical and some pardons that seem merited.  So many times, when it comes to national news, I don’t have the full story. I often simply have the story that is released and there are often “gaps in the coverage” and important details get left out.

I have been pardoned many times. I’m thankful the far-reaching grace of God because He has pardoned me on multiple occasions.

Paul reminds the people of God’s grace and His kindness. It is NOT deserved for sure, but He gives it anyway. Check this out….

It is the same today, for a few of the people of Israel have remained faithful because of God’s grace—his undeserved kindness in choosing them. And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved. (Romans 11:5-6 NLT)

I am still working out my salvation and NOT working for my salvation. Jesus did all the “heavy lifting” for me.  I deserve punishment, but instead I’m pardoned. His grace is amazing, and He is so very kind to me.

His grace compels my commitment.

His grace compels my obedience.

His grace compels my faithfulness.

Notice that I didn’t used the word “demands”. He compels and I have the option to ignore and do my own thing.  When I understand His grace and His mercy the word “compels” fits. I want to follow Him faithfully. I want to honor Him with my obedience. I want to love Him with my faithfulness. I’m so thankful that He has given me multiple chances to return to following and seeking Him.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
