On Location
I am a “home body”. I would rather be home than anywhere else in the world. I don’t have an extravagant home by any means, but I’m simple and I love where I live. I also love the town where I live, work and play. It is a relatively small town with a square that is full of character and nostalgia. I am blessed with family close by and good friends to work and serve with. I really do love where I live.
One of the things on my “bucket list” is to travel our great country. My wife and I want to travel out west in an RV for a few weeks at a time. This will be interesting, because I don’t normally like to be gone more than four days at a time. I think it will be much different since it will be just the two of traveling.
King Solomon in his book, Song of Solomon speaks of genuine sensual love. Love is wherever we are. Check this out….
11 Come, my love, let us go out to the fields
and spend the night among the wildflowers.
12 Let us get up early and go to the vineyards
to see if the grapevines have budded,
if the blossoms have opened,
and if the pomegranates have bloomed.
There I will give you my love.
13 There the mandrakes give off their fragrance,
and the finest fruits are at our door,
new delights as well as old,
which I have saved for you, my lover. (Song of Solomon 7:11-13 NLT)
Love is found wherever I find myself. I do not have to be in one specific location to love my wife, family or others whom I meet. I believe that love is a universal language. We were all wired to love. Some have mangled their love wiring to mean some totally different than the Creator planned. Others have mingled love with hate and they seek to bring pain and destruction to others.
I want to fully embrace God’s love for me.
I want to fully express my love for others, especially those closest to me.
I want to love others no matter where I am, whether at home or in some other country or continent. I was reminded of this verse in Romans….
8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT)
Love goes on location with me wherever I am.
Pressing On!
