Notice

I have met people who notice way more detail when they walk into a room than I do. I have some friends in law enforcement and they can scan a room and notice in great detail who is there and assess very quickly any threat or anything out of the ordinary. I have a friend who can see things one time and remember in great detail all that he sees.

I also listen to a blog called “The Professional Noticer” and I’m trying to improve my “noticing skills”.  It’s fascinating to notice things that are a bit uncommon or extra ordinary. I love noticing spectacular sunsets or a beautiful sunrise.  If I don’t stop and notice things that are unique to today; it might be a bit boring and drudgery.

Elihu is concluding his remarks and his rebuttal with Job. He finishes strong with some questions about notice. Check this out….

21 We cannot look at the sun,
for it shines brightly in the sky
when the wind clears away the clouds.
22 So also, golden splendor comes from the mountain of God.
He is clothed in dazzling splendor.
23 We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty;
but even though he is just and righteous,
    he does not destroy us.
24 No wonder people everywhere fear him.
All who are wise show him reverence.” (Job 37:21-24 NLT)

I want to notice the hand of God throughout my day today.

I want to notice the hand of God in the people I love dearly.

I want to notice the hand of God in strangers that I don’t know.

I want to notice the hand of God where I live.

I want to notice the hand of God where I work.

I want to notice the hand of God WHEREVER I find myself.

If I will notice the hand of God in the ordinary people, events and locations – I will realize that His Presence is EVERYWHERE I am.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
