Not Needed
I think most everyone likes to be needed at a certain level. Some people thrive when needed. Others get a bit arrogant when they are needed. I think we are all needed at some level on this earth, but we are not all necessary. When I breathe my last breath, there will be someone who takes my place. In other words, I’m replaceable. I think it’s healthy for us all to know that we are not irreplaceable. It’s humbling and can even be a bit hurtful, but it’s true.
Job is still listening to God as the Lord is asking him a bunch of rhetorical questions that are humbling. The Lord knows the answers to all of the questions. I think the Lord is asking questions to help Job gain a bit of perspective. The Lord doesn’t NEED Job. The Lord doesn’t NEED anyone. Check this out….
11 Who has given me anything that I need to pay back?
Everything under heaven is mine. (Job 41:11 NLT)
The Lord loves me, and He love His creation, but He doesn’t NEED it. His Creation serves Him. I believe that I am created to bring glory and honor to Him NOT myself. I should not have any motive about being noticed. I want to make the Lord famous instead of becoming famous.
I want to make the Lord known instead of becoming known.
He doesn’t need me, but I sure do need Him. He loves me. He loves it when I seek Him. He loves it when I serve Him. He loves it when I love others. Jesus came to seek and save the Lost. He came to serve humanity and make a way back to the Father. I know the Father, because I know Jesus. My family needs me and I will serve them because the Lord has created a love deep in my heart for my family. He also created in me a need for Him that ONLY He can fill.
Pressing On!
