Not Measurable

tape measureI have a tape measure in my desk at work. I have a tape measure in my shop at home. I have a tape measure in my home office. There is an app for my phone that allows me to measure the square footage of a house. My wife and I have measuring cups and spoons to measure with. I just realized that I do measure a lot of things. After reading in Psalms this morning, I realize that I really can’t measure or “size up” the Lord. Check this out….

 7 My heart, O God, is steadfast,

    my heart is steadfast;

    I will sing and make music.
8 Awake, my soul!

    Awake, harp and lyre!

    I will awaken the dawn.
9 I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;

    I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love,
reaching to the heavens;

    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;

    let your glory be over all the earth. (Psalm 57:7-11 NIV)

I love the place where David is writing. He is in a place of trust. He has been tested in many ways, but he puts his trust in the Lord. As He starts describing the love and faithfulness of God it feels like he runs out of words.

As I go on a journey through the Word of God, I realize that I can’t begin to measure the character of God.

His Love knows no boundaries.

His Faithfulness is limitless.

His Mercy & Grace I can’t fathom.

I’m going to simply rest in the midst of His Immeasurable Characteristics and Attributes! I love the fact that His love, His faithfulness, His mercy and His grace found me and they hold onto me.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
