No Matter What
I’ve used the words “No Matter What” to describe my commitment to my kids. No matter what they do or who they become – I will always love them. They can’t do anything that will make me not love them and call them my kids. I will say that they could possibly embarrass me or hurt me. I love them so deeply. If I’m a regular Dad who can love like that, I imagine the love of my Heavenly Dad to be much deeper and more complete. As I read the last chapter from the prophet Habakkuk, I realized that I will hang on to the Lord no matter what could happen to me or around me. Check this out….
2 Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.
17 Though the fig-tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the sheepfold
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights. (Habakkuk 3:2, 17-19 NIV)
Creator God is actually in charge of this world. The universe is under His command. He has so much power, but He so gentle and kind as He holds on to me through the darkest night. He is consistent. He is caring. He is so very patient. The Great “I Am” is holding on to me and I want to hold on to Him.
1 There’s no space that His love can’t reach
There’s no place that we can’t find peace
There’s no end to Amazing Grace
Take me in with your arms spread wide
Take me in like an orphan child
Never let go, never leave my side.
Chorus:
I am,
Holding on to You.
I am,
Holding on to You.
In the middle of the storm,
I am Holding on,
I am!
2 Love like this, Oh my God to find!
I am overwhelmed what a joy divine!
Love like this sets our hearts on fire!
3 This is my Resurrection Song
This is my Hallelujah Come
This is why to You I run
There’s no space that His love can’t reach
There’s no place that we can’t find peace
There’s no end to Amazing Grace (©2013 David Crowder & Ed Cash)
The Lord loves me relentlessly. His love for me moves my heart. No matter what comes my way, I want hang onto Him and have Him hang onto me.
Pressing On!
