My Word

Child speaking out loudPeople who know me have called me a “talker”. I learned at a very young age the value of speaking the truth no matter how tough it is. I also learned how important it is to keep my word or my promises when I make them. This is easier said than done, but it takes strong commitment to follow through on what I said I would do. I believe the Lord wants His kids to keep their word. He said as much through Moses to the leaders of the families (tribes) of Israel. Check this out…

1 Moses said to the heads of the tribes of Israel: ‘This is what the Lord commands: 2 when a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said. (Numbers 30:1-2 NIV)

My word must mean something.

Keeping my word reveals my character.

If God is the only One Who hears my commitment, that is enough.

My word is the foundation of trust upon which all my relationships are built.

The Lord speaks through His Word into my heart. I want my words to point to The Word as I live out what I say I believe. I want to speak truth at all times as tough as that may be.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
