My List of Leaders

I came across a simple and short verse in my daily Bible reading that really stirred my heart. Check this out…

⁷ Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith. (Hebrews 13:7 NLT)

I went back to my childhood and started making a list of people who had taught me and influenced me. It was a humbling but helpful exercise. I was reminded that I am who I am today because of so many people along the way.

As I made my list, and a huge wave of gratitude came over me. Many of the people on my list have gone on before me, but some are still alive and I have the opportunity to tell them that they are on my list.

If you’re reading this, I challenge you to make a list.

The cool think that happened to me as I made my list, the Lord reminded me that I’m likely on some others lists. I wasn’t expecting the blessing that came over me because of that thought.

My list includes: parents, grandparents, Preachers, teachers, friends, acquaintances, worship leaders, professors, co-workers. I have 95 on my list and I’m still counting!
