Most Important
I look at my calendar each day and start mentally preparing for the day ahead. There are times it is jammed packed and other times; I see some good margin. I like to think that the events on my calendar are important. If the events involved people, they are important. The events that involve my family should always be higher on my list.
Peter, one of Jesus’ closest followers penned some instructions to the followers of Jesus. He reminded me of what is most important in my walk with Jesus. Check this out…
7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. 8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:7-8 NLT)
Pray often and love deeply. These are important and the “love deeply” is more important than my prayers. As I wrestle with that thought, I realize that love is more important than prayer. Prayer is me talking with the Lord on behalf of others. Prayer deepens my relationship with God. My love for others is an expression of my relationship with God. He wants me to love deeply.
The most important thing on my calendar of events today is to love others deeply.
Pressing On!
