Morning Prayer
I love the early morning for a lot of reasons. I like getting an early start to the day. I like the quietness of my home. I enjoy a refreshing cup of coffee. I enjoy sitting in my chair with the Word of God open. I enjoy hearing the Lord speak to me through His Word. His Spirit speaks truth into my heart through His Word and through His Presence in the quietness of the morning. I find myself talking to the Lord as I begin my day. I want Him to direct my path today or I would be better off staying home. He connects me with the right people. He builds me through struggles some days and He celebrates with me on other days. Today is Monday – all day long. He prepares me for Monday. He prepares me for each day of life that I live. Check out part of King David’s prayer….
1 O Lord, hear me as I pray;
pay attention to my groaning.
2 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God,
for I pray to no one but you.
3 Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord.
Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. (Psalm 5:1-3 NLT)
I love morning prayer.
I love morning preparation.
I love morning because it’s a fresh beginning.
I love what Jeremiah said about mornings. Check this out…
23 Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning. (Lamentations 3:23 NLT)
This morning begins a new day and a new work week for me. I want His wisdom to be showered upon me. I want His love to consume me. I want Him and His Presence to overflow from my heart and my life. I want my heart to be filled with Him and overflow to everyone I meet. I have goals for my morning. I have goals for my week. I want Him to approve all my plans because without Him, my plans are foolish.
My morning prayer is always for His Presence in me today and every day.
Pressing On!
