More Than Enough

When it comes to certain things, I can’t get enough. I love hugs from my grandchildren – I can’t get enough of those. I don’t ever get tired of encouragement or inspiration. I seek it out. I have to keep my wants in check because they will sometime take over and I become self-centered and full of myself. The Lord calls me to serve others and trust Him with my needs.

Moses and the people of Israel are still at the base of Mt. Sinai getting instructions from the Lord for community structure and day to day operations. God is giving Moses a detailed plan for how they are to operate, including worship, governance and travel. He gives specific instructions for building the tabernacle (tent for worship).  Check this out….

So Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and all the others who were specially gifted by the Lord and were eager to get to work. Moses gave them the materials donated by the people of Israel as sacred offerings for the completion of the sanctuary. But the people continued to bring additional gifts each morning. Finally the craftsmen who were working on the sanctuary left their work. They went to Moses and reported, “The people have given more than enough materials to complete the job the Lord has commanded us to do!” (Exodus 36:2-6 NLT)

I was reminded that the Lord has all the supplies He needs, to do whatever He calls me or anyone else to do. There is often enough talent inside our church to do whatever He calls us to do. There is often enough resources to do whatever He’s calling us to do. I have to continue to work at expanding my generosity. The Lord loves to work through His people to do what He needs to do. He loves it when I serve others from the resources He’s given me.

This reminded me of an old song called, “Enough” by Chris Tomlin.

You are my supply
My breath of life
And still more awesome than I know
You are my reward
worth living for
And still more awesome than I know

All of you is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough

You’re my sacrifice
Of greatest price
And still more awesome than I know
You’re my coming King
You are everything
And still more awesome than I know

More than all I want
More than all I need
You are more than enough for me
More than all I know
More than all I can say
You are more than enough for me

Paul reminded me that God had this. He will take care of me and His Presence will sustain me through trial, trouble and struggle.

19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 NLT)

Pressing On!

Dwayne
