Make Peace

I am sometimes referred to as a peacemaker. I’m ok with that title until it becomes an unhealthy place to be. There are people and situations who seek to destroy peacemakers because they want a fight or conflict. I’m not afraid of a fight or conflict; it’s just that they are not usually very productive and actual progress or persuasion. I am learning that conflict and fights are usually less about the issue and more about the people involved. I have actually started a conflict because I’m sideways over some other issues.

Isaiah speaks a lot about Israel and her relationship with God. He is constantly reminded Israel of their past so that it won’t become their future. Check this out…..

    My anger will be gone.
If I find briers and thorns growing,
    I will attack them;
I will burn them up—
    unless they turn to me for help.
Let them make peace with me;
    yes, let them make peace with me.”
The time is coming when Jacob’s descendants will take root.
    Israel will bud and blossom
    and fill the whole earth with fruit! (Isaiah 27:4-6 NLT)

Peace with God should be a life-long pursuit for sure. When I read about God in the Old Testament, I realize the relationship with His people was present, but not nearly as intimate as it is now. Jesus came and removed barriers and built a bridge to God through the cross. He became the ultimate sacrifice for sin. He came so that peace with God could happen with His people. He became the Catalyst in forging a new and powerful relationship between God and His Creation.

I want the Lord’s Spirit to dwell in me and be obvious.

I want the Peace that is often unexplainable or hard to understand.

I want my life to reflect the Power and the Presence of God in me because of the Peace Treaty that Jesus introduced with His life,  His death and His defeat of death through the resurrection from the dead.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
