Love Reminder
I am learning that as I get older, my memory is not quite as sharp as it once was. I guess that Is should have expected that. I have met people who are a good bit older than I am and they still seem “sharp as a tack”. I don’t think I’ve ever forgotten to eat, sleep or drink. I think that there are several survival skills that are “built in” to all of us.
I have learned to use a calendar and the technology that smart phones bring. The calendar app that I use has a checklist built in to remind me to do things when I arrive at a certain destination or at a certain time of day.
The Apostle John is such a tender-hearted man. He called himself “the disciple whom Jesus loved”. His message after being with Jesus for 3+ years was love as Jesus loved. Chek this out…
5 I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning. 6 Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning. (2 John 1:5-6 NLT)
I need to be reminded to love like Jesus. His love changed my life completely. There is not one single part of my life that His love has not touched. There is not a single relationship of mine that His love has not touched. The love of The Lord has changed how I see others – even difficult people. He has softened my heart. I want my heart of love to look like His. There is incredible power in love. I needed this simple reminder from the Lord. Love has the power to change our world from the inside out. It started with the Son of God Who epitomizes love and it’s only complete when it reaches the heart of each person who is changed by His love. Only the Love of God has this far reaching power. Jesus made a way for everyone to have it.
Pressing On!
