Lord Over All

I once heard the phrase that “Jesus must be Lord of all or He’s not Lord at all”. At first glance, this phrase seems pretty harsh and hard. I have been in the process of making Jesus Lord of all for many years. It’s easy to say that He’s Lord, but it’s a bit tougher to actually live like it. I want what I want WHEN I want it. I know I’m not the only one.

Ezekiel was directed by the Lord to give a riddle to the people of Israel to communicate truth to them about the Lord’s Power and Authority. At the end of the chapter, Ezekiel is given an explanation. Check this out….

22 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take a branch from the top of a tall cedar, and I will plant it on the top of Israel’s highest mountain. 23 It will become a majestic cedar, sending forth its branches and producing seed. Birds of every sort will nest in it, finding shelter in the shade of its branches. 24 And all the trees will know that it is I, the Lord, who cuts the tall tree down and makes the short tree grow tall. It is I who makes the green tree wither and gives the dead tree new life. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do what I said!” (Ezekiel 17:22-24 NLT)

Jesus is Lord over all creation.

Jesus is Lord over every situation.

Jesus is Lord over the details of my life.

Jesus is Lord over my marriage.

Jesus is Lord over my family.

I want to grow in my trust of Him today and every day. The areas of my life that I think I’m in charge of need to be surrendered to Him. The thing is, when I surrender all to Him, He guides my step in managing my life, marriage, family and every situation that I face.

Making Jesus Lord is an all day, every day journey. It’s not “rocket science” but it is simply about surrender.

Pressing On!
