Looking Down

I have learned over the years to watch where my feet are going. If I’m not careful and I look too far forward, I might stumble or step into a hole. Every now and then I will find a coin on the ground. If I look down constantly, I might run into a tree as well. I think it’s wise to keep my head up but glance downward every now and then to see where my feet are planted. I want to look upward to God as God looks down upon me. I want to seek Him with my whole heart while walking and living upon the earth. I want to be wise in the Lord’s eyes as He looks upon my heart from His dwelling place. Check this out….

Only fools say in their hearts,
    “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;
    not one of them does good!

The Lord looks down from heaven
    on the entire human race;
he looks to see if anyone is truly wise,
    if anyone seeks God.(Psalm 14:1-2 NLT)

I’m not wise on my own merit or anything that I’ve done or can do. If I’m wise, it’s because the Lord rules my heart and directs my steps. I would rather be a “dimwit” in the eyes of others, but wise in God’s eyes because I seek Him.

I want to lead my family in wisdom that comes from the Lord.

I want to lead my company in wisdom that comes from the Lord.

I want to walk each day in wisdom that comes from the Lord.

When the Lord looks down upon my heart, I want Him see His reflection in the mirror of my soul.

Pressing On!
