Light!

I love light! I love the morning light. I enjoy seeing the day start with light from the sun coming up. Even when it’s cloudy, the sun lights up the day. I’m reminded of how the small light of a lamp can light up a whole room.

Paul explains to the church at Corinth in his second letter that the same God who spoke light into existence made His Light dwell in us!  Check this out…

For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. (2 Corinthians 4:6-7 NLT)

The older I get, the more I began to realize just how fragile life is. We are not promised tomorrow or even the rest of today. I want to keep pursuing my purpose in life and that is to shine the Light of Jesus to the world. I don’t ever expect to be on a grand stage or grand scale. I just want everyone who knows me (even as an acquaintance) to know that I am nothing without Jesus living and dwelling in me. He has lit up my life and I want His Light to be clearly seen in me.

My perspective on everything in this world and in this life is shaped and colored in by His Light in me. Just as I see everything through the corrective lenses of my glasses or contacts, I see everything through the Light that the Lord has placed inside of me!

Pressing On!

Dwayne
