Hope Gives Courage

I’m full of hope because I believe in Jesus. He is the Son of the God and He calls me to follow Him. He calls me to live for Him. He calls me to love like Him. He gives my life purpose. My hope in Him gives me courage to face suffering and trials.

Job has been knocked down. He is struggling. His suffering. In the midst of His pain and struggle, He doesn’t curse God, but He does complain and call out to God to put him out of his misery. My heart hurts when I read of Job’s struggle. My heart hurts when I see human suffering. It reminds me of how hard suffering is.

Another of Job’s friends calls him out and reminds Job of his hope in God. Check this out….

13 “If only you would prepare your heart
and lift up your hands to him in prayer!
14 Get rid of your sins,
and leave all iniquity behind you.
15 Then your face will brighten with innocence.
You will be strong and free of fear.
16 You will forget your misery;
it will be like water flowing away.
17 Your life will be brighter than the noonday.
Even darkness will be as bright as morning.
18 Having hope will give you courage.
You will be protected and will rest in safety.
19 You will lie down unafraid,
and many will look to you for help. (Job 11:13-19 NLT)

I needed to be reminded of the power of Hope. Jesus came and He is the Hope of The World.  I heard a great song just yesterday that is on repeat.  Upon Him by Matt Redman

Upon a hill, a perfect Savior
Upon that day, the greatest love
The punishment that should have fallen on us
Upon Him, upon Him

Upon His head, a crown of thorns
Upon His heart, a broken world
The wage of sin, the weight of our transgressions
Upon Him, upon Him

Christ has died, we are forgiven
And Christ alive, we are the risen
And He shall come again
Praise the King, praise the King

Upon our hearts, His name is written
The King of Kings and Lord of Lords
We’re pouring out a song of praise together
Upon Him, upon Him

One name upon our lips, Jesus
No greater name than this, Jesus
And every knee will bow, every heart confess
Jesus, Jesus
One name upon our lips, Jesus
No greater name than this, Jesus
And every knee will bow, every heart confess
Jesus, Jesus

I want to cultivate my hope in Jesus.

I want to feel His Presence in me.

He gives me strength.

He gives me courage.

He gives me hope.

He gives me help.

He motivates me.

He inspires me.

He forgives me.

He saved my soul.

I’m profoundly grateful for Jesus Christ.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
