Honor

I love being honored or noticed for my work. I have to be careful that I don’t think that I’m deserving of honor. The Lord deserves any honor that I receive. I am nothing and a nobody without His Presence in me. I am humbled at some of the things He’s done through me over the years. He speaks through me. He serves others through me. He gives wise counsel through me. I’m a weak and worthless person except for the Grace and Power of God in me. I’m a conduit of His Grace and His Power. I’m so humbled and thankful that He would use someone like me to bring honor to Himself. Check this out…

Honor the Lord, you heavenly beings;
    honor the Lord for his glory and strength.
Honor the Lord for the glory of his name.
    Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

10 The Lord rules over the floodwaters.
    The Lord reigns as king forever.
11 The Lord gives his people strength.
    The Lord blesses them with peace. (Psalm 29:1-2,10-11 NLT)

The Lord is definitely worthy of my honor and praise.

The Lord is definitely worth living for.

The Lord is definitely worth trusting with my whole heart.

I want the activities of my day to bring honor to the Lord. I can honor the Lord by writing a contract or canceling a contract for someone.  I can honor the Lord by showing property.  I can honor the Lord by listing a property for sale. I can honor the Lord by talking on the phone. I can honor the Lord by composing an email. I can honor the Lord by listening to a podcast. I can honor the Lord by reading. I can honor the Lord by resting. I can honor the Lord by giving someone a hug. I can honor the Lord by smiling. I can honor the Lord in a meeting. I can honor the Lord when I’m driving. I can honor the Lord with a cup of coffee.

I want to honor the Lord with every single detailed activity of my day. I want to honor Him with my lips and my life. The opposite of honor is shame. My heart breaks to think of the times that I’ve brought shame upon the Lord by something stupid I did or said. I’m humbled by His Grace and the welcome mat that He leaves out for me.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
