Healing

I know what it’s like to be sick and need healing. My sickness has been limited up to this point in my life. I’m very grateful for my health. When I’m sick, I’m looking for ways to treat the symptoms and get to a cure. I’m one of those people when I get sick, I call the doctor for counsel and help.

Physical healing is not the only healing needed. I need mental and emotional healing as well. There are times when things go through my mind that are harmful and it’s so hard to deal with. There are other times when others hurt me emotionally rather than physically.  This type of healing is often not noticed or seen by others. The people closest to me almost always know when I’ve been hurt. The people closest to me are the ones that hurt me the most.

When Jesus walked the earth, He healed people of physical sickness as well as mental sickness. He was so kind and understanding – He still is.  Check this out….

29 After Jesus left the synagogue with James and John, they went to Simon and Andrew’s home. 30 Now Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. They told Jesus about her right away. 31 So he went to her bedside, took her by the hand, and helped her sit up. Then the fever left her, and she prepared a meal for them.

32 That evening after sunset, many sick and demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. 33 The whole town gathered at the door to watch. 34 So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak. (Mark 1:29-34 NLT)

I look for Jesus’ healing every day. There are things that happen throughout the day that are frustrating and hard, but He is always there to listen when I connect with Him about what I’m feeling. He knows. It is super helpful when I talk to Him about my hurt and my concerns.

I pray for Him to heal others. He is the Great Physician for sure. He can physically heal. I often feel like my faith inoculates me against some of the enemy’s schemes. Don’t misunderstand, I do sin and stumble badly, but the Lord forgives and heals. He is so faithful. He is so patient. He heals me from the inside out.  I need His healing touch on my life today.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
