He Is With Me – EVERYWHERE!

I am so very thankful for my family and friends. There are friends who are often even closer than family. I believe that if you’re friends with your family, you are doubly blessed. No one gets to choose their family, but we all get to choose our friends. Our friends and family are right there with us in the times of celebration and joy. They are also right there in the darkest times and times of intense struggle in this life. I’ve been with friends before but not been “with” them. My body has been present, but my mind and my thoughts were somewhere else. This is really sad and harmful to a good relationship. I’m learning to slow down in the moment and be present.

The Lord was giving His people some specific instructions for the journey ahead and getting along with one another. He promises to be with them. Check this out.

20 “See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you. 21 Pay close attention to him, and obey his instructions. (Exodus 23:20-21a NLT)

This passage reminded me of Jesus coming to earth. He introduced to the world more characteristics and attributes of the Father. In this passage, the helper was an angel sent from God.

After Jesus came and became the final sacrifice needed for sin, He returned to the Father. The Lord sent His Spirit to serve the same role as this angel. The Holy Spirit is the very Spirit of Creator God. It may be similar to the angel that the Lord sent His people after Egypt, but yet the Holy Spirit is significantly more powerful. The Holy Spirit is a Counselor and Coach. He is fully Present and Powerful.  He is Kind and Gentle.  He works in me as well as on my behalf.

Our church has recently started singing this power song about His Presence. This song reminds me that no matter where I am or what I’m going through – He is with me!

Another In The Fire – Hillsong United (LIVE)

Chorus: There was another in the fire
Standing next to me
There was another in the waters
Holding back the seas
And should I ever need reminding
Of how I’ve been set free
There is a cross that bears the burden
Where another died for me
There is another in the fire

Bridge: And I can see the light in the darkness
As the darkness bows to Him
I can hear the roar in the heavens
As the space between wears thin
I can feel the ground shake beneath us
As the prison walls cave in
Nothing stands between us
Nothing stands between us

There is no other name but the name that is Jesus
He who was and still is, and will be through it all
So come what may in the space between
All the things unseen and this reckoning
And I know I will never be alone

I’m so thankful that His Presence is with me every moment of every day. He never leaves or takes a break from me. His Presence is Power. His Presence is Comfort. His Presence is Peace. His Presence changes EVERY SITUATION I face.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
