God Is On Time!

I operate off a calendar and a clock. I do my best to write down every appointment in my calendar. I do respect the time of others and I want to make the most of my time as well. I also know that there are things and events that are time sensitive and that takes things up a notch.  If I miss a deadline that is hard, there are not a lot of options to make it up.

I was reminded of God’s timing as I read Paul’s plea to the Galatian Church to stop returning to the law. Jesus came to introduce Himself as the fulfillment of the law. We are no longer slaves to an antiquated law because Jesus fulfilled all of it. Check this out….

But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir. (Galatians 4:4-7 NLT)

God did not give us freedom to live however we wanted to. He does give us freedom with boundaries that are protective and directive. The boundaries we have keep us safe from ourselves and others (protective) and they point us toward eternity (directive).

I’m so humbled by what God did “when the right time came”.

I’m thankful for my adoption into His family.

I’m thankful for my heavenly “Dad” who calls me His kid.

I want to honor the Lord in my freedom.

I want to honor the Lord is my choices.

I want to honor the Lord in all the activities of my life.

Today we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. He is alive! He completed all that He came here to do. He walks with us in our abundant life and He’s with us as we move into our eternal life!

Pressing On!

Dwayne
