Generational Worship

I am so thankful to have the privilege of being a Dad. I am also thankful to have been a son to my Mom & Dad as well as a grandson to my Mammie & Pappy. Along the way, I was told about Jesus, God’s One and Only Son. I was introduced to God and His Power as a young kid. As I’ve gotten older, I’m getting to know the Lord more as I spend time with Him.

I’ve also had the privilege of being in full-time ministry for a 20-year season of my life. I had the joy of introducing lots of young people to Jesus. My most important ministry to me is my own family. The kids that called me Dad were my most important “youth group”. I’m thankful that they all have been introduced to the Lord and know Him.

King David starts in a place of despair in the first part of Psalm 22, but then finishes strong as he looks forward to future generations. Check this out….

27 The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to him.
All the families of the nations will bow down before him.
28 For royal power belongs to the Lord.
    He rules all the nations.

29 Let the rich of the earth feast and worship.
Bow before him, all who are mortal,
all whose lives will end as dust.
30 Our children will also serve him.
Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord.

31 His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born.
They will hear about everything he has done. (Psalm 22:27-31 NLT)

I’m praying now for my grandchildren’s children.  I would love to know that future generations of my family are serving and seeking the Lord. I’m also praying for the Lord’s favor upon generations to follow me.

It brings me great joy to see my kids lead the church in worship.

It brings me great joy to see their kids being moved by music.

I’m praying for generations of my family to lead others to the Lord with their lives and their music.
