Fake ID
I hear stories all the time of people who have made a fake ID. This is usually done by people who are under-age and want to purchase alcohol. There are also people who create fake ID’s because they are trying to escape something in their past.
Isaiah reminded me this morning that I can fake my identity before the Lord. He knows me from the inside out. He knows my deepest thoughts and secrets. He knows me like no one else on the earth.
Isaiah is speaking to the remnant of God’s people and reminding them of things that they had forgotten about who they are and Whose they are. Check this out….
13 And so the Lord says,
“These people say they are mine.
They honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
And their worship of me
is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.
14 Because of this, I will once again astound these hypocrites
with amazing wonders.
The wisdom of the wise will pass away,
and the intelligence of the intelligent will disappear.”
15 What sorrow awaits those who try to hide their plans from the Lord,
who do their evil deeds in the dark!
“The Lord can’t see us,” they say.
“He doesn’t know what’s going on!”(Isaiah 29:13-15 NLT)
I want the Lord to remind me of what He knows about me.
I want the Lord to remind me of my sin.
I want the Lord to remind me of His Grace and Love.
I want the Lord to remind me of His Forgiveness.
I want the Lord to remind me of who I am in His eyes.
I was reminded this morning that my heart is where the battles for my allegiance are won or lost. My heart is the battleground where my behavior and choices come from. I want the Lord to move my heart closer to His heart as I live out my life here on earth.
My surrendered heart is the only thing that the Lord wants from me. He made me. He is fully aware that if He has my heart, then He has me. I believe surrendering my is a daily act of allegiance to Him.
Pressing On!
