Faith & Trust

These are two very important parts of my journey with the Lord. I can’t always see what He’s doing, but I trust Him to walk with me along this journey. I think my trust in Him strengthens my faith in Him. I don’t want to make a big deal out of it, but I see these two as complimentary concepts but different.

Each day that I live, I want my faith in Him to grow. The more I know Him, the more I trust Him.

There was lady who went looking for Jesus because her daughter was sick. A parent will do nearly anything to help their child. I love this story because of the woman’s faith that Jesus could help and her trust when He told her that the healing was done. Check this out….

24 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre.  He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret. 25 Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil spirit, 26 and she begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter.

Since she was a Gentile, born in Syrian Phoenicia, 27 Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews. It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”

28 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.”

29 “Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.” 30 And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone. (Mark 7:24-30 NLT)

I love the woman’s faith that Jesus could heal her daughter and then she trusted Him after their exchange, and she went home.

The Lord is faithful to me even when I’m not faithful to Him.

The Lord is trustworthy even when I’m not.

I have so much to learn about Him.

I have a lot of room to grow in my faith and trust.

I want to keep building upon the faith that I have and keep cultivating my trust of Him.

Pressing On!
