Entering Into God’s Presence

I grew up going to church Sunday Morning, Sunday Night and Wednesday Night. We even went to every night of the Revival Services in the Spring and Fall.  I’ve learned that there is a difference between going to church and entering into the Presence of God.  I do believe that most churches want to enter into His Presence with their music and message. Worship is a subjective experience. I can’t necessarily look at you and be able to tell if you’re worshipping God or entering into His Presence.

King David made preparations to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem to a place he had prepared for it. The Ark of the Covenant represented the Presence of the Lord among them. I love the plans that were taken for the “processional” of bringing the Ark to Jerusalem. Check this out….

25 So David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of units of a thousand went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-Edom, with rejoicing. 26 Because God had helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, seven bulls and seven rams were sacrificed. 27 Now David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and as were the musicians, and Kenaniah, who was in charge of the singing of the choirs. David also wore a linen ephod. 28 So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouts, with the sounding of rams’ horns and trumpets, and of cymbals, and the playing of lyres and harps. (1 Chronicles 15:25-28 NLT)

What if I spent some time preparing to enter the Presence of the Lord?

What if my heart were focused and prepared to enter into His Presence?

What if I entered into the Lord’s Presence sitting in my home?

What if I prepared my heart and soul to enter the Lord’s Presence before going to church this Sunday?

I believe worship happens in the everyday mundane activities of my day. Worship is my hearts affection and my minds attention turned to the Lord. His Presence is in me via the Holy Spirit of God.  It would help for me to de-clutter my heart to make more room for His Presence in me and then I’d be more prepared to enter into His Presence properly. It’s personal and powerful to be in God’s Presence.

Pressing On!
